ALD Startup Challenge was launched by ALD Automotive in March 2017 to scout for innovative ideas on the theme of car parking experience. It has now reached its final stage, and Witrafi is in! We’ll be in Paris with four other startups to pitch our parking solution. Read on.
It is a great honour to share the news. ALD Automotive has picked Witrafi to participate in the final stage of its ALD Startup Challenge! The challenge was launched in March 2017, and this year the theme is urban parking, with a particular focus on rethinking the driver experience.
“Parking in urban areas is an issue that many drivers have to cope with. It is often a stressful time to get through and to this day only few services offer a real improvement of their user experience“, states the mission of the challenge. “We would like to work with startups that offer innovating answers and are able to reinvent the experience of our customers in this specific field.”
63 startups from 20 countries entered the competition. The count is now down to 5, and we are extremely excited to be one of the finalists. The final event will take place in Paris on June 30th, at ALD Automotive’s headquarter. Wish us luck!

Witrafi and ALD Startup Challenge
If you’ve followed our blog recently, you probably know how obsessively we focus on the driver experience when it comes to car parking. We have talked few weeks ago about how we envision the full parking experience and what we plan to do about it. Previously, we’ve presented some results from pilots we did in the past regarding how to process parking data to tell drivers where to park. You can find the related blog posts here and here.
At the ALD Startup Challenge Final we’ll pitch our solution to guide drivers in finding, reserving, accessing and paying for their parking space. We’ve been silent so far about this service, but we’ll soon have more information for everybody. Stay tuned!
